W.E.E.K.E.N.D.

]It was sweet sweet summery, not in a sundress, but I've the sunburn to prove the lines and lives I've lived in the sun, in cars moving oh so speedily down the highway - 24 mostly, through Chattanooga, and hitting Atlanta in a twelve o'clock minute. Greeted and met, and wandering down streets in the cherry blossom air, so beautiful, even at night, and a mere walk to the 24 hour diner I'd heard so much about. Since there's a drought of real diner activity here in the southlands, this was refreshing in you can't imagine how many ways. And just coffee and burgers and grits, and the memory of a diner that is one of the few stops on "Erin the formative years: THE TOUR!," and all the afterschool moments of coffee, er sugar and cream darkened a bit with bitterness I couldn't quite fathom in my sixteen year old mind. Now I take it black, some sugar, but not too much. I like to taste my coffee, although I do think that there is a particular brand of diner brown liquid that is not strong that really lends to the hedonistic aspect of lots of cream and sugar. Afterall, you really aren't covering up the taste, you're adding a little something. And the days rolled on, and the nights, and I woke up happy with a smile on my face, and he called me beautiful, and this time there's someone to believe. And we walked and shopped and drank wine and ate fried pickles...and everyone asks "what the HELL did you do in Atlanta" and I shoot back "Haaatlanta!" and just chilled out and went to a show and hung around and walked most of the city on foot - shot back - "Walked? In Atlanta?!" - yes and yes, and I have the sunburn to show my Irish heritage on reddened shoulders (wearing a tank top in 65 degree weather...what do you think happened?) and then returned to this city among cities, and tried so hard to get back into the swing of it all...and finally finally yesterday it happend, I was inspired, and things rolled into place.

And time to start another.
