Psychedelic Furs / Blondie

So I got to go to an awesome amazing show starring the aforementioned two bands. I was a bit wrong about the location, and so didn't get to see much of the Furs' set -- but they were amazing, which made me sad to not have caught it all. "Pretty in Pink" rocked, and the lead singer still has lots of energy, if you want to know.

Blondie was great -- she too was rockin it out and hitting all the notes. She started out with "Atomic" and of course ended with "Heart of Glass." But one of the highlights was Blondie doing "Rapture " where she drops lyrics about Fab Five Freddy. Awesome.

So what's going on? Well, I finished my test (a thirty-one page epic that I wrote in 36 hrs, 9 of which I slept, and more of which I was unfocused), and went home to NY. I was at my house, hung out with a jovial version of Justin (if any of you have actually met my brother, having him in good spirits is sort of a rare thing. They used to call him Mr. Negative in the Navy, although I'd say Mr. Serious) -- he made fun of me a lot, and I wasn't bothered. Went to the City twice -- once on the family front, and once to see Larry. We just kinda hung out, went to the Met, ate some Vietnamese food next to the MOST BORING COUPLE EVER at a table not even 6 inches from our own...so I got a little loud saying things like, "Oh my God, I'm so bored. I'm so boring that I'm boring myself. Damn, this is boring." Of course they could hear me, but they seemed none too bright, and may not have figured out that I was mocking them in loud tones right next to them. We also went to see Napoelon Dynamite. I'd seen it, but needed to take Larry to see it. My entire office loves it, and listens to sound clips of it all the time. All I'm going to say is Moonboots, and "Tina! Come get some ham!"

Back in TN. Nothing too special to report other than Blondie. I'm going to see David Byrne in September (4th row!!!) with Lucas, who I got to see this weekend. I took the day off from work (sinus headache) and we went thriftstore shopping, and I got loads of good stuff for $15, including a jacket for ninety nine cents that looks tailored to me in vintage bright green. I feel like Ezra Pound or something...and some skirts and a long sweater jacket. We went swimming, and on a "Lucas, the formative years, the tour." Good times.

Hope all is well with y'all. And hopefully Flynn comes back to us soon.
