Going home for the weekend, for a wedding. It's a crunch, or I'd say we should get together (you know who you are). I teach at 2.10 pm-3pm, to fly out at 5.15 ish. Wah. Wedding's Saturday morning, fly back Sunday night, because at private school, you teach on Monday.

hope all's well -

RANT: Seersucker

I guess I've always known how much I dislike seersucker material. It's crinkly, it's almost supposed to look wrinkly, just like A+F pants come pre-wrinkled as if they were sitting at the bottom of your closet for an entire season. The stripes are atrocious. But I'm prompted to talk about my intense hatred for seersucker because of J. Crew, and a man who made me like seersucker slightly more. So J. Crew has introduced more colors to seersucker -- if the blue and white motif isn't your bag, you can get green and white, red and white, etc. The color options, instead of making the whole thing better, just manages to infuriate me more. It's atrocious. And you can get seersucker coats, pants, shorts, etc. just in case you and Buffy and Muffy need to hit the Hamptons, ASAP! (*this of course is a generalization = consume with handfuls of salt.) But onto the guy who made me like seersucker slightly more than I normally hate it. He was wearing traditional seersucker (blue + white) shorts -- and he sagged them on his very skinny "I have no ass" body. Perhaps what bothers me the most is the crinkly-ness when coupled with someone who wears the pants really tightly, accentuating a large(r) ass. While this non-homeboy was not stylish, he helped out the seersucker's affect on me. FASHION VICTIM + SEERSUCKER = GOODNESS. Of course, I don't mean to offend with these comments, but seersucker makes me cringe, just like the word noooooogat makes others freak out. We've all got our something. Just make the seersucker stop - or at least sag them.
