Only 13 1/2 Hours to MonticelloI started out really early, after deciding only hours earlier to embark on the journey up north. Perhaps I was persuaded by the fact that I hadn't driven up during the winter. I have to say that I actually missed driving up during holiday break - and flying instead. So Saturday, after much thought, I put a couple things in my car (dirty laundry, cds, etc.) and went to bed. Sunday morning around 3.30am, I got onto I-40E and drove straight across TN, picking up I-81N and travelling across what from my perspective was ALL of Virginia...hopping to WVa, MD, and PA to I-84E to US-6, and finally some back back roads to my hometown. The weather was perfect...not too cold, sort of sunny, no real traffic except a standstill outside of Wilkes-Barre in PA. Minimal stops, and the sun was starting to set over the farmland outside of Cochecton. Minutes later, I was home. Somehow I made record time. So I'm here for a couple of days before heading on to DC to see B., who is visiting a friend of his there. I might head up to Colgate tomorrow and just check things out, see a few professors, and then come back. It's a nice ride anyway. Then DC, then back to Nashville. The weather's been getting nice, and I've been out frolicing with B., climbing trees, going to the Corvette museum in Kentucky, going to Mammoth Caves, and seeing some hockey (go Predators!). That's about all the update there is! Hope you're all doing well.
